Developing my idea
As I developed the concept for I’M LATINA, I was intentional about infusing a heartfelt storytelling and a comedic rhythm, to the performance. As a Colombian, comedy has been an essential part of my life—I grew up watching iconic shows like El Chavo del 8, Sábados Felices, and La Culpa es de Llorente, which deeply influenced my sense of humor.
Over the past year, I have dedicated myself to the craft of stand-up comedy as a way to share my lived experiences as a woman, a Latina, and an immigrant. Through humor, I hope to build bridges of empathy and connection, allowing audiences to both laugh and reflect. I truly believe that in every joke lies a truth—and in that truth, someone else’s story.
